Dr. Hilda Gritter obtained her medical degree from the University of Western Ontario in London, Ontario. Before starting pathology studies, Dr. Gritter did general practice locums in London and Northern Ontario, and worked for half a year in general practice in Nigeria with the Christian Reformed World Missions. Her first year of residency in anatomical pathology was done at the University of Western Ontario, but she completed her residency and a fellowship year in neuropathology at the University of Manitoba. The first two and a half years after that were spent in pediatric pathology at the Health Sciences Center in Winnipeg, followed by two and a half years at St. Boniface Hospital, Winnipeg, in general surgical pathology and some pediatric pathology. Edmonton has been home since 1992, first at the Royal Alexandra Hospital, then at DynaLIFE, concentrating on surgical pathology and cytology.
